

About me

Leonardo Haruki Avallone is a Brooklyn based drummer and musician.
Born and raised in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, he moved to New York City in April of year 2018, initially to pursue his academics in Music Major to become a versatile musician using Jazz fusion techniques onto his style as a punk rock drummer.
Leonardo started taking piano classes at the age of 6 years old while he was still learning how to write down his name. At the age of 12, his dad blessed him with an acoustic guitar that started his dedication leading him to his career performing in so many hardcore-punk bands in his local scene between the years 2004 to 2021.
Leonardo played guitar for OverFeet in 2005 to 2008. In 2007 he started the hardcore straight-edge band called Strike and Fight who toured with the Dutch band No Turning Back in 2013. Strike and Fight also toured with extinct hardcore straight edge band StillxStrong in between 2007 and 2013.
​​In 2013 right after the tour, Leonardo Haruki switched his position from guitar to sit behind a drumset while he was still working in Strike and Fight, as a consequence of their drummer quitting the band. Since then, he never stopped and it became his main craft. Taking classes with different mentors and also, self-taught method, he has always been looking for knowledge, to get better on his instrument and become a solid and versatile musician. He treats drumming as a necessity the same way we have to eat, drink water and sleep.
In 2016 and 2017, Leonardo collaborated with hip-hop artists in Sao Paulo for a non governmental event called “SOS DA VIDA”, raising money for homeless people and the less fortunate in critical situations whose lives need assistance from donations.
In 2020, he had worked, composed and recorded guitar lines for a split EP in a Raw punk band called Kartel who released the album together with Odio Social (Brazil), through the independent punk label from New Haven-CT, VEX. As a drummer, he has toured with the British band Freespirits, celebrating 10 years of existence, hitting the road in the United States in summer of 2023.
Currently, Leonardo is attending the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC-CUNY) as a Music Major in a Jazz and Pop program to become a certified musician and take his drumming to the next level. He is very active in his social media, where he works on networking and frequently posts about his drumming practice, performances, and reflections on his musical journey. Early this year, Leonardo started working with his friend "Tony Gee" on his fashion brand called “Paranoid”. Paranoid is influenced by music, arts and movies just the same curated in a way that expresses art through clothing and references internal and external reflection upon art and life. Paranoid printed the first run in 2014, It’s a quarterly release throughout the year. We sponsor artists/musicians, skateboards and collaborate with local and international artists on clothing and pop up events.
